Women Still Trailing Men in Snagging Executive Positions
April 10, 2007 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Nearly
three-quarters of executives say that women and men with
similar positions are not paid the same and there are six
times as many men as women in executive posts, according to a
recent survey.

The survey of executives by Ladders.com, an online job service catering to the $100,000-job market, found that 66.3% of respondents said that women do not have as many opportunities as men to become company CEOs.
The survey found that more than half (51.2%) said they have experienced some form of sexual harassment and 26% said that they hadn’t personally but knew of someone who had experienced harassment.
Other survey findings include:
- 54% of respondents said that men and women are equally adept at managing employees;
- 47% of women in the survey said they would continue to work after having children, but at a reduced load.
- 27% of women said they would continue to work at full-time status.
- 63% of executives said that their workplace offers no assistance in the form of day care, onsite nursing facilities or time off for children’s school activities.
