Older Workers Generally Feel Well Treated in the Workplace
April 26, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - A survey from
Randstad USA found that 58% of employed adults over age 55
say their employers treat employees of all ages
fairly.

HR.BLR.com reports that 54% of these older workers say their employers value employees over age 50. However, only 25% of workers age 18-34 reported the same.
Fifty-six percent of all workers in the survey said they relate well to older workers, according to HR.BLR.com.Older workers were more likely to say that they relate well to younger workers and that younger workers energize them and bring new ideas to the table.
Only 20% of respondents said older workers energize them and bring new ideas to the table.
“Despite this disparity, the multi-generational workplace is mutually advantageous for employees and employers alike,” says Genia Spencer, managing director of operations and human resources for Randstad USA, according to HR.BLR.com.
The surveyed included responses from more than 1,400 employed adults in the US.
