Majority of Workers Would Take Promotion with no Raise
June 20, 2011 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Recent research from OfficeTeam finds that while the majority of employers would not offer an employee a promotion without a salary increase, one in five (22%) respondents revealed this practice is at least somewhat common at their companies.

Fifty-five percent of workers polled said they would be willing to accept a promotion that doesn’t include a raise.
According to a press release, 63% of companies said the practice of awarding promotions without salary increases is not common at all at their companies, and 14% said they definitely do not offer promotions without raises.
Thirty-nine percent of employees said they would not be willing to accept a promotion without a salary increase.
The surveys of managers and workers were conducted by an independent research firm and include responses from 508 HR managers at companies with 20 or more employees and 433 workers 18 years of age or older and employed in office environments.
