American "Hotline" Could be Just That
April 30, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - American Airlines
employees looking for words of comfort and encouragement from
their new CEO might get more than they bargained
for.
Reported by Nevin E. Adams
Previously, workers at the nation’s largest airline could simply call 1-800-AA-CARTY to hear a recorded message from now ex-CEO Don Carty. But now that Gerard Arpey has taken over the helm, that logic could have some unexpected consequences.
Seems that 1-800-AA-ARPEY currently leads callers to a sex hotline.
“We obviously will not use that number,” said American spokeswoman Tara Baten, according to a Reuters report.
Other airlines have similar CEO hotlines, according to the report. Baten said American is still reviewing whether it will continue to have a hotline at all.
