Accounting, Finance Seen Among Professions Hiring Most College Grads
July 16, 2007 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - More than
two-thirds of companies plan to hire up to 15 college
graduates this year, with the greatest number of jobs
expected to be in accounting, customer service, engineering,
finance, IT, marketing and sales.
Reported by Adrien Martin
The survey by Compensation Resources, Inc., found that publicly-traded companies and non-profits offered higher base salaries, annual bonus/incentives, and signing bonus/incentives compared to privately-held organizations.
However, overall average weighted base salaries were down in 2007 from 2006, from $44,894 to $43,841. Average weighted bonuses were up significantly for 2007 at $9,982 from the 2006 figure of $3,581.
The Eastern and Western Regions of the U.S. provide the highest base salaries and annual bonus/incentives among all other geographic regions.
