Employers Cite Employee Morale and Productivity as Biggest Challenge
July 26, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – Thirty-one percent of HR managers say maintaining employee productivity and morale is their biggest challenge over the next six months, according to a survey released by ComPsych Corporation.
Reported by Rebecca Moore
Other challenges cited include:
- 26% – Dealing with health care costs and new legislation;
- 16% – Finding qualified candidates;
- 14% – Handling organizational change; and
- 13% – Retaining top performers.
“The morale and productivity issue has far surpassed concerns over health care legislation and organizational change,” said Richard A. Chaifetz, Chairman and CEO of ComPsych, in a press release. “Managers must take steps to ensure employees receive recognition and that workloads and other issues related to morale, such as opportunities for growth and development, are addressed.”
