Half of Massachusetts Employees Are Unhappy

The 57% that are unhappy with their current positions comes at a time when much of the state is unemployed. In fact, in the BostonWorks.com poll of 4,759 respondents, 34% were out of work and looking for employment.

However, the relatively high level of unemployment does not mean employees are complacent. “As the job market improves, companies will need to consider employee satisfaction as they look to recruit and retain the best employees,” said Peter Newton, president of BostonWorks. “In general, employees with high job satisfaction are committed to the organization, are more productive and have higher retention rates.”
